Thank you so much for your feedback and comments on the WVNewsline launch. We’ve received hundreds of emails, comments, ideas and suggestions and appreciate every one of them. The primary reason we wrote the software to aggregate online news headlines was simply to SAVE TIME reading multiple news sites each day. It’s just that simple… One page - for all your WV News... And in that regard, from all of your feedback - we have hit a home run!
Already we’ve had more than ten thousand readers visit the site to scan headlines and click to read news you want. You’re bookmarking the site, coming back daily and personalizing the news page to show the sources you want to see! It’s always fresh, updating hourly and already we’re aggregating for you more than 500+ new WV news headlines each day. We thank you for letting WVNewsline.com become part of your daily news experience. We will do everything possible to continue to listen to you and help you get all the news you want - the way you want it.
Here is an incredibly, free, convenient, and extremely useful web-based tool that lets you make all sorts of checklists. You can keep them private, share them with others. Visit http://www.tadalist.com to check it out - here's a quick screenshot to give you the idea…
Just another one of these simple - killer conveniently little web applications that we all wish we had thought of. It's made by the team at 37Signals.com - a brilliant team of developers out of Chicago. Paul McNeely and I had the chance to meet them this summer - fantastic perspective they have at keeping tools like this simple and usable. Enjoy.

Here's a clearcut summary that comes to us courtesy of Forbes. It's an interactive map of the United States showing the country's largest private companies. The map shows revenue by companies as well as total revenue by state. You can then click on the state name to get a detailed breakdown of the largest private companies in each state.
Digg sure does find the most interesting news… In this recent article, the NY Post introduces us to little 8-year-old Victor De Leon III, a kid who makes $25 an hour– playing video games. He does this by training adults to play the popular Xbox shooter, Halo 2. I would not want to see this kid on Xbox Live, that's for sure.

Over at CNNmoney, Fortune provides us with an article where they talk to 9 people about their secrets to success. They talk to everyone from an NFL kicker to a drill instructor. It's an interesting look at what it takes to succeed regardless of the profession you're in.
From CNN - Are your Web surfing fingers getting tired?
There may be a reason. Netcraft, an Internet monitoring company that has tracked Web growth since 1995, says a mammoth milestone was reached during the month of October.
"There are now 100 million Web sites with domain names and content on them," said Netcraft's Rich Miller
BusinessWeek has a new article up containing noteworthy news and tips for entrepreneurs. Amongst the things discussed– a smart way to divide stock, VC interest in early-stage companies, doing business related to Cuba, and Google vs. Yahoo for advertisers.
From BusinessWeek - The success of the entrepreneurs behind Digg, YouTube, and Facebook will undoubtedly inspire a growing breed of the young, energetic, and self-reliant who are more than willing to gamble that their startups will fly. But it's not just about role models. The idea that entrepreneurship is a viable career path is ingrained across the U.S., and the number of resources for startups continues to swell. So when we set out to find the latest batch of fresh faces and examine what makes their businesses tick, it wasn't surprising to see their ages skewing younger and their ideas getting smarter.
Here is a link from BusinessWeek Online that provides some resources for young entrepreneurs. This tipsheet can help those who are looking to start their first business as well as those looking to simply start another new business.
St. Louis and Detroit may have battled it out this October for the right to be at the top of the baseball world, but they're fighting a much different battle at CNNmoney — the right to be called the most dangerous city in America. A dubious honor indeed. Meanwhile, Brick, NJ takes home the honor of being called the safest city in America. It's a fun and interesting read, so check it out.
CNNmoney delivers the goods again with this great article that serves to dispell myths and and uncover the secrets surrounding salary. They give us three secrets about salary, and three myths. Go check it out.
We can never get enough lists. Here's another great list from the fine people at CNNmoney that gives you a staggering 50 tips for cutting your health care costs. This is certainly information we can all use.

CNN Money has a really interesting new list up that offers 25 rules for making the right financial decisions. It's a good read, and one that may prove helpful to anyone lacking confidence in their financial decision making.
From TechWeb - Risk taking could be the key to successful entrepreneurship, according to a study released Friday by Northeastern University's School of Technological Entrepreneurship.
While 88 percent who participated in the study consider themselves risk takers, 44 percent admit they are somewhat cautious when faced with major decisions. So says the Northeastern study, which examined more than 200 U.S. entrepreneurs.

From Forbes - Fourteen self-made members of the vaunted Forbes 400 shared candid, contrarian and even comedic answers to 20 thoughtful questions–ranging from what they eat for breakfast and how they pray to the importance (or lack thereof) of getting an M.B.A. and what advice they would give aspiring entrepreneurs.

From paulgraham.com via digg - "In the Q & A period after a recent talk, someone asked what made startups fail. After standing there gaping for a few seconds I realized this was kind of a trick question. It's equivalent to asking how to make a startup succeed– if you avoid every cause of failure, you succeed– and that's too big a question to answer on the fly."
